NARAFE Christmas luncheon Dec. 9

The Cullman chapter of The National Association of Retired and Active Federal Employees will meet Monday, Dec. 9, at The Golden Corral Restaurant. Program will be the Christmas “Dirty Santa” $10-$15 gift exchange. Dutch lunch prior to meeting which begins at 12 p.m. Members and non members welcome. Lights of Love Dec. 10

The Cullman Regional Foundation Dr. Herman C. Ensor Lights of Love Ceremony will be Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 6 p.m. in the St. John’s Evangelical Protestant Church’s Christ Hall. This year’s event will be dedicated to Cullman Regional Hospice patients and in honor of Jerry Lawson. Giving a gift of love for $20, $40, $60 or more places a light on the Christmas tree at Cullman Regional as a tribute to someone special. The tax-deductible gift will support the Foundation’s mission of advancing healthcare services at Cullman Regional. Special acknowledgement cards are sent to those who have been honored and to the families of those being remembered.

Donations may be contributed throughout the entire holiday season and gifts received by Dec. 9 will be included in the special ceremony. CERA to meet Nov. 21, Advocacy training Dec. 9

Cullman Education Retirees Association members will meet Thursday, Nov. 21.  Guest speaker will be from the city of Cullman. Bring children’s warmth items or monetary donations for the food bank. Hostesses will be Linda Walker and Rhonda Van Zandt.  Tressie McLemore from the Athens/Limestone unit will be a special guest.

Advocacy training will be, Monday, Dec. 9, at Seventh Street Baptist Church in Cullman. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and the meeting will begin at 10 a.m. and will end by 12 p.m.  AERA will pay mileage for one vehicle in a group.  All attendees will receive $10 cash for lunch.

WCHS Holiday Marketplace

The Winston County High School band Holiday Marketplace will be Friday, Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Double Springs Municipal Building, 23415 Highway 195. More than 40 vendors will be offering a variety of arts & crafts, boutique clothing and more. Santa will be available for photos for a fee. WCHS band will offer a variety of soups and other foods for purchase.

Tree Festival returns in November
The City of Cullman Tree Commission is planning the second holiday Tree Festival for November and December 2024. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities available, large and small. No reservation required. For questions, call 256-615-3176.

Cullman Serenity AlAnon group
The Cullman Serenity AlAnon group meets on Mondays at 12 p.m. at 1519 St. Joseph Drive NE. There is also a zoom meeting each Tuesday at 12 p.m. The Courage AlAnon Family group meets Thursdays at 6 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, 305 Arnold Street NE in the Carriage House located between church and Arnold House. The Food Basket

Medical equipment ministry
Cullman First United Methodist Church has a medical equipment ministry that can loan items, for no charge, to those in need in the community. If you or someone you know is in need of medical items, or would like to donate good used equipment, contact the church office at 256-734-6690.

Overeaters anonymous

Refuge Recovery
Refuge Recovery, service for helping to break the bonds of addiction through the power and love of Jesus Christ, will meet every Monday night at the Refuge Church of God, 1115 East, US-278, Cullman. Knitting group forming

Never Forget Rose Garden donations

The new memorial, provided by the Cullman Community Lions Club, is to honor the memory of America’s unknown fallen service members.

Volunteers needed to deliver homebound meals
There are several local senior centers in Cullman County in need of volunteers to deliver homebound meals. These are our most vulnerable seniors in the community. If you can help, call Commission on Aging centers:

West Point – 256-734-0282 (Bailey Muncher)

Deliveries are between 10 a.m. and noon, Monday-Friday. Multiple days are open weekly.

Mileage reimbursement is optional. Volunteers must have own transportation.

Kiwanis to meet
Cullman Kiwanis members meet on Monday at Freddie Day Catering, 1628 2nd Ave., NW, Cullman, from 12-1 p.m. Everyone welcome.

VFW dinner fundraisers

Cullman County EMA will test area sirens on the first Wednesday morning of every month.

The Cullman City Council meets on on the second and fourth Monday of the month at 7 p.m. at town hall.

The Cullman County Commission meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m. with a work session at 4 p.m. in the Cullman County Courthouse.

The Dodge City Town Council meets on the second Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. at town hall.

The Fairview Town Council meets on the first Monday of the month at 6 p.m. at town hall.

The Garden City Town Council meets on the third Monday of the month at 6 p.m. at town hall.

The Good Hope City Council meets on the second and fourth Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at city hall.

The Hanceville City Council meets on on the second and fourth Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m. at town hall. Work session at 5 p.m.

The Holly Pond Town Council meets on the first Monday of the month at 6 p.m. at town hall.
