Class 1A

Berry 54, Addison 38

The Bulldogs put up a good fight in Friday’s first-round clash but couldn’t quite chase down the Wildcats.

Seth Hammack and Kaden Dyson each had a pair of rushing scores for Addison, which trailed 38-16 entering the fourth quarter. Wyatt Anderson also provided a touchdown run for the Bulldogs.

Addison, which reached the playoffs for the 12th time in 13 campaigns under coach David Smothers, wraps up its season with a 6-5 record.

Class 2A

Winston County 56, Cold Springs 34

The Eagles found their offense in the second half of Friday’s first-round contest, but the fifth-ranked Yellow Jackets ultimately proved too much.

Ayden Black threw a touchdown pass to Cason Alexander in the first quarter, but Winston County held a 50-8 lead at halftime.

Tycen Kilgo, Matt Williams, Ethan Day and Cooper Johnson each found the end zone over the final 24 minutes to help the Blue and Gold put up its third-highest offensive output of the fall.

Cold Springs finishes its season at 5-6 after reaching the playoffs for the first time since 2019.

Class 3A

Lauderdale County 24, Vinemont 0

The Eagles gave the Tigers all they could handle in Friday’s opening-round loss.

Lauderdale County (8-3) scored a touchdown late in the second quarter to lead 7-0 at halftime.

The home team tacked on a safety early in the fourth quarter for a 9-0 advantage — and that held until late in the frame when the Tigers notched a pair of touchdowns off two turnovers to pull away.

Vinemont, which has secured five straight playoff appearances, caps the season with a 7-4 record — its best effort since producing the same mark in 2020.
