Two killed in separate wrecks

On Monday, Oct. 21, a multi-vehicle crash claimed the life of Chadrick D. Kilpatrick, 51, of Arley. According to a statement from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division, at approximately 5:10 a.m., Kilpatrick was killed when the 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer he was driving struck a 2023 Mack tractor-trailer driven by Raymond B. Butts II, 44, of Vinemont. After the initial impact, the Chevrolet then struck a 2024 Ford Bronco driven by Roger D. Harris, 62, of Arab. Troopers say the tractor-trailer left the roadway, caught fire and became engulfed in flames. The Ford overturned into a ditch.
Kilpatrick was pronounced dead at the scene. Harris was injured and transported to Cullman Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The crash occurred on Alabama 91 near Cullman County 783, approximately five miles east of the Hanceville city limits.
On Wednesday, Oct. 23, Quinton J. Bell, 28, of Bremen was killed in single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 10:20 p.m. According to a statement from ALEA, Bell was driving a 2008 Honda Civic when it left the roadway, struck a road sign and overturned. According to ALEA, Bell was not using a seat belt at the time of crash, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. The crash occurred on Interstate 65 near Cullman County 222, approximately one mile north of Good Hope. No further information is available about either incident as ALEA continues to investigate both.
