COLD SPRINGS — Fairview’s Alex England and Cold Springs’ Paizley Whitlow cruised to individual wins on Tuesday, while the Eagles registered yet another team sweep at this year’s Cullman County Championship.

England conquered the varsity boys division with a time of 16:13.47 to notch his third victory of the season (Fairview Invitational and Kudzu Hills Invitational).

Sage Nelson (third), Drew Dykes (sixth), Logan Perdue (seventh), Blaize Anderson (13th) and James Baggett (16th), meanwhile, helped Cold Springs’ boys earn their 21st consecutive county title with 37 points.

Fairview (49) finished second — followed by West Point (50) and Vinemont (89).

West Point’s Rene Moreno-Tovar (second), Vinemont’s Brady Johnson (fourth), Good Hope’s Drake Nichols (fifth), Holly Pond’s Joshua Putman (eighth), Holly Pond’s Matthew Putman (ninth) and West Point’s Thomas Ferster (10th) rounded out the rest of the Top 10 to earn All-County honors.

Whitlow’s 20:21.20 was tops in the varsity girls division and spearheaded a 1-2-3-4 finish by the Eagles — Macie Huffstutler (second), Reese Swidecki (third) and Claire Huffstutler (fourth). Ally Mavers (sixth) provided the final counting time for the Blue and Gold, which won its 19th straight county crown with 16 points.

Fairview (70) finished second — followed by Holly Pond (73) and West Point (86).

Holly Pond’s Mila Edmondson (fifth), Cold Springs’ Daisy Mavers (seventh), West Point’s Dorothy Salter (eighth), Cold Springs’ Hayla Watson (ninth) and Cold Springs’ Kynzlie Myrex (10th) comprised the rest of the Top 10.

Good Hope’s Logan Collier (junior varsity boys) and Hanceville’s Mikahela Johnson (junior varsity girls), meanwhile, won their respective races. Good Hope’s junior varsity boys and Fairview’s junior varsity girls also claimed team titles.
