The Wallace State Community College Dental Assisting program recently celebrated the accomplishments of graduating students with a ceremony attended by family, friends and colleagues.
“I would especially like to thank our friends and our family. You have been a crucial part of this program and helping us getting to where we are today, whether you know it or not, from pushing us, comforting us and telling us things that we really don’t want to hear from the time,” said class president Peyton Rouse, of Dora, who was the recipient of the Presidential Award for Health Science Excellence at the college commencement exercises in May.
Clinical Coordinator Halli Melton described the Class of 2024 as not only having mastered the technical skills required to become effective dental assistants, but having also embraced the values of empathy, compassion and integrity.
“Today, we gather to celebrate the culmination of dedication, hard work and unwavering determination. Each of these remarkable individuals before us has not only demonstrated academic excellence but has also exhibited a profound passion in the field of dental assisting,” Melton said. “They represent the next generation of leaders, innovators and advocates who will shape the landscape of oral health care for years to come. To the graduates, I offer my heartfelt congratulations.”
