Oneonta’s Braxton Beasley, 19, drowned early Wednesday, July 10, while working on Smith Lake near Bremen.
According to Cullman County Coroner Jeremy Kilpatrick, Beasley fell from a residential boat dock near Calvert Point shortly after noon Wednesday afternoon.
Beasley was installing a boat lift with his family’s business, HydroHoist Alabama, at the time of the accident. His father, Phillip Beasley, provided the following statement via the company’s Facebook page Thursday morning:
“Please be patient with our team during this time. We lost a Lead Installer while on job. Braxton Beasley you will be forever missed. This install will be forever in our hearts. I love you Son!! I finished the job and I have your bag buddy. Until we meet again Love Dad!!”
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked anyone wishing to pay their respects to make a charitable donation to the Smith Lake area based nonprofit Alabama Lakewide Charities.
