- The Cullman County Commission has set the speed limit to 15 mph along County Roads 464 and 465, seen Wednesday, June 26.
With many Independence Day celebrations set to take place this upcoming week, Cullman County drivers should be on the lookout for speed limit changes along several county roads as they make their way to festivities.
The Cullman County Commission approved to modify the speed limits to four county roadways last week, June 18.
Reducing the limit for County Road 1534 to 40 mph came at the request of the Fairview Town Council and will coincide with similar changes recently approved for the municipally maintained Christian Street.
The two roadways flow into each other and while speed limits within municipalities are typically set at 35 mph — the standard for county roads is 45 mph — the Fairview council recently approved to increase Christian Street to 40 mph and requested an equal reduction from the commission to allow for more cohesive travel.
The commission also approved to set the speed limit to 35 mph along County Road 939 and to 15 mph along County Roads 464 and 465.
