Cullman High School student Lane McLeod has been awarded the Fourth District Art Competition Best of Show award.

“I congratulate Lane McLeod on her outstanding painting depicting Sacred Heart Church,” said Congressman Robert Aderholt (AL-04). “Her piece will hang in the U.S. Capitol Complex for the next year and I will certainly look forward to walking past it each day on my way to votes in the House. We had a record number of entries in this year’s competition; 230 from schools representing all 14 counties in the Fourth District.”

“Lane is extremely talented and is very deserving of this prestigious award as she is a hard and dedicated worker with a big heart,” CHS art teacher Elizabeth Miller said. “I cannot wait to see what Lane will do in her bright future.”

Other Cullman City Schools students who placed at the Congressional art competition include: Saley Winn 1st Place in Photography, Chloe Clark 1st Place in Computer Graphics, May Dawsey 2nd Place in Mixed Media, and Ziza McDonald 2nd Place in Printmaking.
