FCCLA holds 2023 All County Sweet Potato Cook-Off

Various county school students met at the Alabama Farm Credit headquarters in Cullman for the FCCLA County Sweet Potato Cook-off. The event was sponsored by the Cullman Sweet Potato Growers Association, Farm City, Pat Floyd, Doris Patterson and the Alabama Farm Credit. The sweet potato cook-off had four categories: casseroles, bread, pies and desserts.
The sweet potato casserole winners were Sierra Cranford from West Point, 1st; Zoe Marks from Good Hope, 2nd; Lauryn Hoffman from Holly Pond, 3rd; and Emma Hydrick from CATA, 4th. Winners in the sweet potato bread category were Abigail Whitehead from Holly Pond, 1st; Jana Woods from CATA, 2nd; Abigail Tankersley from Vinemont, 3rd; and McKenna Howard from Vinemont, 4th. Winners in the sweet potato desserts were Katelyn Evans from Vinemont, 1st; Chamaria Arrington from Hanceville, 2nd; Miaonna Ward from Hanceville, 3rd; and Savannah Bischoff from Cold Springs, 4th. Winners from the sweet potato pies category were Aleana Brantley from Good Hope, 1st; Natalie Taylor from CATA, 2nd; Taylor Tolbert from West Point, 3rd; and Aidan Helms from West Point, 4th.
