Opening ceremonies for the Cullman County Fair kick off Thursday, Oct. 5, at 5 p.m. The annual Lion’s Club sponsored event will run through Oct. 14 at the Cullman County fairgrounds.

The midway will be open from 5-10 p.m. each night, except Saturday and Sunday, when gates open at 2 p.m and Monday when gates open at noon. On Monday, school-age children get in free until 5 p.m.

The Miss Cullman County Fair Competition is Tuesday at 7 p.m.

On Wednesday, area senior citizens can get in for free from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Entertainment and games in the Coca Cola Theatre.

The fair will remain open past 10 p.m., if crowd size demands it.

• Oct. 7 — Alabama Institute for the Deaf & Blind concert at 4 p.m.
• Oct. 7 — Miniature horse show at 6 p.m.
• Oct. 8 — Youth pet show at 5 p.m.
• Oct. 9 — Combined sheep and goat shows at 5 p.m.
• Oct. 9 — Little Fair Princess pageant at 7 p.m.
• Oct. 10 — Youth cattle judging and show at 5 p.m.
• Oct. 11 — Open cattle show at 6 p.m.
• Oct. 11 — Junior Fair Princess pageant at 7 p.m.
• Oct. 12 — Youth horse show at 6 p.m.
• Oct. 12 — Teen Fair Princess pageant at 7 p.m.
• Oct. 13 — Raging Bones in concert at 7:30 p.m.
