KUDZU HILLS INVITATIONAL: Parris, Allred, England claim individual wins; Cold Springs, West Point earn team titles

Cold Springs’ Reagan Parris and Jayden Allred helped guide the Eagles to a team sweep, Fairview’s Alex England joined them as an individual winner and West Point’s varsity boys triumphed as well at Saturday’s Kudzu Hills Invitational.

Parris (20:07.80) won the Class 1A-2A race as the Eagles (33) edged West End (40) for the top spot.

Paizley Whitlow (fourth), Macie Huffstutler (sixth), Kynzlie Myrex (eighth) and Daisy Mavers (14th) also delivered counting times.

Allred, meanwhile, spearheaded a 1-2-3 finish for Cold Springs with a time of 16:11.00 for his first-ever varsity win.

Sage Nelson (second), Drew Dykes (third), Blake Belcher (seventh) and Logan Perdue (11th) also contributed solid showings for the Eagles, whose 22 points easily bested runner-up Holy Spirit (65).

England, meanwhile, shined in the 5A-7A competition with a time of 16:35.36 to take home the hardware.

Rene Moreno-Tovar (second), Hayden Jones (fourth), Thomas Ferster (sixth), Jakob Salter (15th) and Jesus Tovar (19th) provided speedy times to lift the Warriors (46) past Jasper (54) for the team title.

Fairview’s Carlos Medina (seventh) and Devon McGee (13th) joined teammate England in the Top 20.

In the 3A-4A girls race, St. Bernard’s Madi Kerber (ninth) and Good Hope’s Katie Parrish (15th) finished in the Top 20.

In the 3A-4A boys race, St. Bernard’s Cash Daly (fifth), Vinemont’s Brady Johnson (sixth), Good Hope’s Drake Nichols (11th), St. Bernard’s Sean Daly (12th) and St. Bernard’s Parker Guthery (13th) finished in the Top 20. The Saints finished fourth as a group.

In the 5A-7A girls race, West Point’s Lilly Patterson (11th), West Point’s Dorothy Salter (13th), West Point’s Maggie Warren (14th), Fairview’s Lola Haynes (15th) and Fairview’s Molly Lindsey (16th) finished in the Top 20.

The Warriors finished second while the Aggies placed third as a team.

Cullman’s Andrue Barnett, meanwhile, finished second with a time of 15:45.70 at the Black and Gold Classic in Scottsboro.
