For three-quarters of the year Christine Chamblee and her employees at Dreher’s Cocktail Bar and Restaurant strive to offer their customers a glamorized time traveling experience with their 1920’s decor, craft cocktail menu, and locally sourced dinner selections. The holiday season is no different, but, like most things during this time of year, that experience becomes much more personal.
“During the holidays we really try to focus on private events and special event days. We love to do themed menus for the holidays and our guests always seem to really enjoy them as well! One thing we love about the holidays is when our guests book private holiday parties and we’re able to create special food and drink menus for them,” Chamblee said.
At Dreher’s there is a little extra emphasis in celebrations, with special events spanning the holiday season from October through New Year’s.
Of course, no self-respecting bar in a German town could forget to celebrate Cullman’s Oktoberfest, which is why Dreher’s designs a special menu featuring traditional German food and a variety of bottled German beers.
For those who prefer their holiday festivities to be of the more nocturnal variety, there’s the annual “Here for the Boos” Halloween and “Dreher’s After Dark” tacky Christmas sweater parties.
If you are looking to add a touch of class to your holiday outings you could attend the annual Christmas Eve Bubbly Brunch, where a variety of sparkling wines are paired with a secret four-course brunch menu from Executive Chef Eli Russell, or the Bourbon & Cigars night to sample Dreher’s newest bourbon allocations with a featured cigar provided by The Cigar Box.
In this list of specially crafted cocktails Chamblee invites her guests to celebrate the holiday season with the Dreher’s family, but this time instead of stepping back in time she asks that you travel forward through the holidays with them.
“Come celebrate the holidays with us. Bring your visiting friends and family to join ours this holiday season and enjoy quality time, specialty holiday-themed cocktails, and delicious food. This is our favorite time of year and we can’t wait to celebrate it with everyone. We really are so grateful for all the support Cullman and surrounding areas give us and we’re looking forward to many more years and holiday season’s to come,” Chamblee said.
