Man killed in two-vehicle wreck

A two-vehicle wreck Tuesday afternoon has claimed the life of a Hanceville man.
According to Cullman County Coroner Jeremy Kilpatrick, 88-year-old Oather Lee Phillips was killed in a wreck in the 3500 block of County Road 1114 in Jones Chapel around 2:34 p.m.

Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Troopers said Phillip’s 2020 Toyota Tacoma ran a stop sign and was struck by a 2000 Kenworth T800. Oather, who was not using his seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
