The reigning Class 2A Player of the Year was announced late Friday night as one of three finalists for the prestigious award — she joins Collinsville’s Brittany Rivera and Geneva County’s Karoline Striplin — the winner of which will be revealed March 27.

Striplin was also a finalist in 2019, along with Cold Springs’ Camryn Crider.

Player of the Year finalists for the boys will be announced on Saturday, and the winners March 28.

The ASWA’s annual basketball awards luncheon in Montgomery had originally been slated for April 7 but was canceled due to the recent coronavirus outbreak.

Super All-State Teams will be released March 31 (girls) and April 1 (boys).

The unveiling of Miss Basketball (April 3) and Mr. Basketball (April 4) is set to follow shortly afterward.

Hill averaged 19.3 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game for the Lady Eagles last season.

She also claimed 96 blocks and 59 steals en route to securing All-State honors (Class 2A First Team) and a spot in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game.

Hill finished her dominant prep career with 2,203 career points and a slew of other accolades.
