The City of Cullman announced Friday it will enforce the social distancing measures outlined in the Amended Order of the State Health Officer Suspending Certain Public Gatherings Due to Risk of Infection by COVID-19. The order includes:
All non-work-related gatherings of 25 persons or more, or gatherings of any size that cannot maintain a consistent six-foot distance between persons, are prohibited. This includes any gathering, event, or activity that brings 25 or more persons in a single room or single space at the same time.
On-premises consumption of food or drink at all restaurants, bars, breweries, or similar establishments is prohibited. Such establishments may continue to offer food for take-out or delivery provided the social distancing protocols, including maintaining a consistent six-foot distance between persons, are followed.
All senior citizen centers and gathering places shall be closed.
All schools, public and private (elementary, secondary, postsecondary, technical or specialty, colleges, universities, etc.), shall be closed.
All preschools and childcare centers, excluding those outlined in Section 4(b) of the order, shall be closed.
All hospitals, nursing home/long term care facilities (including assisted living and specialty care assisted living facilities), shall prohibit visitation of all visitors and non-essential health care personnel, except for certain compassionate care situations such as maternity and end-of-life.
The Cullman Police Department urges everyone to adhere to the order. Those in violation could receive a non-traffic citation, resulting in court costs and fines of at least $208.
