PREP ROUNDUP: Vinemont defeats Danville 7-2

Vinemont’s varsity baseball team earned a 7-2 home victory versus Danville on Thursday.
The Eagles, who built a 3-0 lead after two innings, never trailed the Hawks during the contest and improved to 5-4 following the comfortable win.
Clay Rogers led the way offensively with three hits and an RBI.
Travis Hopper (three RBIs) and Will Rhodes each added two hits.
Deacon Samples (two RBIs) and Colby Miller provided one hit apiece.
Wyatt Thomason picked up the win on the mound, allowing five hits and two earned runs in six innings.
He struck out eight batters.
“It was definitely a good win,” coach Matt Collins said. “Our pitchers threw strikes, and our defense made some good plays behind them tonight. I felt like our offense was pretty productive as well.”
