Three of the Cullman County School System’s teachers were recognized for achieving National Board Certification during Thursday’s meeting of the Cullman County School Board.
Fast Track teacher Ginger Hogeland, Hanceville Middle School teacher Elizabeth Watwood and Child Development Center teacher Alexis Williams were all recognized by the board and Cullman County Schools Superintendent Shane Barnette for receiving their certifications.
Barnette said the addition of those three teachers means there are now 16 National Board Certified teachers in the county system, and he congratulated them on their accomplishments after a lot of hard work.
“It’s a long process that has several steps to it, so when you achieve this, it’s something worthy, that’s for sure,” he said.
Board member Heath Allbright was also presented with a gavel during the meeting to recognize his service as board president over the past year. The board elected its 2019-2020 officers during last month’s meeting, with Wayne Myrex serving as president and Shane Rusk serving as vice-president for the coming year.
