Busy November for GOP women

The Cullman County Republican Women installed new officers, made several charitable contributions and heard from a local business at their November meeting.
Alabama Federation of Republican Women President Vicki Bailey attended the meeting to swear in the new officers, including new president Jacqueline Schendel. Other officers include Andrea Hudson, first vice-president; Charlotte Campbell-Covert, second vice-president; Connie McMinn, third vice-president; Rillis Gravitt, fourth vice-president; Chatty Freeman, treasurer; and Pam Willingham, secretary.

The group has been supporting Restoring Women Outreach throughout the year by collecting various items used by the women the organization serves. In November, the republican women made a monetary donation of $642, which will help RWO defray costs. RWO is a 12-month addiction treatment program with the mission of helping clients gain the skills and resources to move forward in their lives.
In addition, the group donated $500 to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2214 to help with the VFW’s efforts to support local veterans. VFW Post 2214 Commander Will Harris accepted the donation from members Beverly Burke and Schendel.
Dr. Nathan Lewis with Below Chiropractic & Wellness was the guest speaker for the meeting. He discussed the importance seeking a better, healthier lifestyle and offered tips on how to accomplish that goal.
The GOP women meet monthly at the VFW Post 2214 on the second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m.
