- Children jump in faux snow as the 2017 Christmas parade rolls through downtown Cullman.
The Christmas in Cullman Parade, tree lighting and Christkindlmarkt have been moved from Friday night to Saturday, due to inclement weather.
Cullman Parks, Recreation, & Sports Tourism announced the change Wednesday afternoon. Participating merchants will still have extended hours on Friday evening as part of the Friday-Sunday Christmas Open House.
Santa’s Workshop and the Christkindlmarkt will open at noon on Saturday, followed by free photos with Santa at 3 p.m. and the parade at 6 p.m. The parade will go from the Busy Bee to Depot Park. The lighting of the Christmas tree will take place at 7 p.m.
“We got a report from the national weather service that it looks like its going to be inclement weather Friday night during the parade and set up, so we decided to move it to Saturday,” said Christy Turner, with Cullman Parks, Recreation, & Sports Tourism.
