Wet weather might’ve dampened what’s typically a huge annual crowd at this year’s Farm Day at the Peinhardt Living History Farm. But the rain couldn’t keep the most determined lovers of all things autumn away from the historic property Saturday.

In fact, for an event that saw a steady drizzle for most of the day, organizers and volunteers say they felt good about Saturday’s showing for the farm’s yearly celebration of the way local agriculture used to be.

“A lot of people came out in the morning, before the rain really started, and we had big crowds in the first hour or two,” said volunteer Lanie Williamson. “For it to have been such a rainy day, we’ve actually had a big turnout.”
