The tournament enjoyed its largest participation with 59 teams and more than 230 golfers, and included several special contests as well as rounds of golf. The event raised around $106,000.

“We’re happy to see such a turnout and the support from the community, local businesses, volunteers and just a lot of people to make this successful,” said Maria Stanford, director of the Cullman Regional Foundation. “This put us so close to our goal for the new ambulance. We have a few more events upcoming to reach the goal.”

A new ambulance will cost about $150,000 and will include the latest technology needed by the emergency medical responders.

The next event by the foundation is Tailgate Celebrate, which like its name promises a day-long tailgate party at Water Willow with barbecue, games and plenty of wide-screen televisions for watching football games. The event is scheduled Oct. 12 and more details will soon be released.

The golf tournament included efforts from Cullman Regional management, Service Guild members, various volunteers in the community, foundation board trustees, board members and others.

Million-dollar Hole-In-One winner, (or closest to the hole) – Clint Hollingsworth
