The concert, which is set for Oct. 22 at Northbrook Baptist Church, benefits the Good Samaritan Health Clinic’s work to provide healthcare services to low-income, uninsured residents of Cullman County.
“This is really our signature fundraising event,” said Good Samaritan Clinic Executive Director Jolanda Hudson. “It has become very popular. We have over 500 people in attendance each year, and we anticipate this year as being our best yet.”
Hudson said the Triumphant Quartet has been a part of the Caring for Cullman Concert for each year of its existence, and the group has a great following in the area.
Triumphant has also received critical acclaim and numerous awards and nominations, so it is always exciting to bring them back for the concert, she said.
“They are a highly sought out Christian group,” she said.
The group also has a local connection with bass singer Eric Bennett, who is a Cullman native who loves coming back to the area to perform in front of a hometown crowd, Hudson said.

Opening the show is Christian author and comedian Mickey Bell, who served as the show’s emcee last year to rave reviews, and is back for this year’s show in a bigger role, Hudson said.
“Mickey Bell is a great comedian and he kept us in stitches last year,” she said. “They really liked him.”
This year’s Caring for Cullman Concert also has a new home at Northbrook Baptist Church, which has a little more room for concert goers and was recommended by the members of the Triumphant Quartet as a good concert venue, Hudson said.
“We’re excited about our new partnership with Northbrook,” she said. “It’ll be very easy to park and get in and get out.”
Hudson thanked the sponsors who are helping make this year’s concert possible, and said everyone who attends will have a fun night while benefiting an organization that does a lot of good in the community.
“Anyone that comes, they will have a great evening of inspiration and entertainment,” she said. “And knowing that it’s a very worthy cause to help meet the medical needs of the uninsured in our community just makes for a great evening.”
“It just makes for a good evening,” she said.
Tickets can be purchased for $15 at the Good Samaritan Clinic, the Yates-Chance Christian Bookstore and Borden Pharmacy, or for $18 online at goodsamaritancullman.com. While tickets can also be purchased at the door on the day of the concert, Hudson encouraged those who want to attend to buy their tickets ahead of time to prevent long lines.
Sponsors are still needed for this year’s concert, and anyone who is interested in becoming a sponsor can visit goodsamaritancullman.com.
