At the last Cullman County Soil and Water District’s board meeting, long time board member Edwin Carter retired from the board of supervisors effective July 15. Mr. Carter stated that because of changes in his farming operation he lacked the time to serve effectively in this capacity. He also stated that he appreciated the opportunity of being able to assist the farmers of Cullman County during his 45 years of serving on the board.
The board reluctantly accepted Carters retirement announcement. Board Chairman Robert Harbison said, “Edwin has represented Soil and Water Conservation well on the county, state and national levels.
