Two people were injured Saturday afternoon after being struck by lightning at Smith Lake Park.

A thunderstorm occurred in that area around 4:15 p.m. 

The injuries occurred as people were moving away from the beach area of the park during the storm, according to the Cullman County Emergency Management Agency.

No information was available on the condition of those injured.
