The search for a missing boater from a July 4 crash on Smith Lake was halted Saturday as storms moved through the area.
Kelsey Nicole Starling, 26, originally of Birmingham, was the only person not accounted for after the 10 p.m. crash of a Watercraft vessel and a pontoon boat. Five people were injured that night.
The driver of the boat, William Jackson Fite, 23, of Decatur, was charged with boating under the influence.
Several agencies, using divers, sonar and other equipment have been involved in the search for nine days in the Rock Creek area of Smith Lake.
