Alabama Power announced this week that it would close  40 locations across the state. The Gardendale Alabama Power office is included in the closure list. 

According to the company, the increase in people receiving and paying their bills electronically was the reason for the decision. 

For customers who do not want to make payments online or by mail, they can still make payments at locations like Walmart, Dollar General or Fred’s stores, Regions bank, Walgreens stores or Publix stores, in addition to others. 

The offices on the list are slated to close by the end of August.
