Investigation continues into hit-and-run; injured man identified

The man injured in a hit-and-run incident Saturday morning has been identified as a Cullman resident by two family members in social media posts.

Anita Kilpatrick wrote that Rob Clemmons, her son, was the person struck by a vehicle on County Road 469 at 12:45 a.m., about a mile from the Rock the South venue.

In a Facebook post Sunday night, Kilpatrick wrote:

“I was notified about 2 hours ago that the man hit by a car at Rock the South was my son, Rob Clemmons.

He had been sedated and UAB did not have an emergency contact for him. 

He is banged up but nurses say he will be ok.

Please keep him in your prayers.

If anyone has information about the hit and run accident and the responsible party please contact the Cullman County Sheriffs office.”

Haley Hardin Roberts also wrote that Clemmons is her first cousin and was the person struck by the vehicle.

Clemmons,30, was airlifted to UAB for treatment and was reported to be in stable condition.

Alabama State Troopers are investigating the incident.
