The arrival of Rock the South comes with the expectation of a record crowd, but it’s also a valuable two days of exposure for the Cullman area to the nation and world.

“This is the eighth year and the weather outlook is good, along with a big lineup of stars, so a record crowd will not be surprising,” said Cullman Mayor Woody Jacobs. “Rock the South is an event that’s brought attention to our area that’s priceless. Our community has been a great host each year to all the visitors who come for the music.”

With Rock the South moving south of Heritage Park into a 140-acre field, Jacobs said the economic impact should be valuable for not only Cullman, but Good Hope and other areas of the community.

“While it’s still technically in the city, the new location sets up a situation for a wider impact for businesses,” he said. “It’s been incredible to see this event grow into something that people all over the country come to.”

Rock the South will have a force of law enforcement officers and deputies on hand to assist inside the concert area and with traffic.

A release from the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office suggests motorists arriving on Interstate 65 from north of Cullman to use Exit 308 to reach Rock the South. Those coming from south of Cullman on the interstate are advised to use Exit 305.

Law enforcement officers and Rock the South staff will assist with traffic direction.
