Mercedes-Benz Co-Op program application open to all Wallace State Automotive Service Technology students

A student in Wallace State Community College’s Automotive Service Technology program gets hands-on training in the lab. Wallace State and Mercedes-Benz US International have partnered to offer the Mercedes-Benz Tech Co-Op Program. Students accepted into the program will complete coursework at Wallace State during the fall and spring semesters, and spend the summer semester working full-time a the Mercedes-Benz plant in Vance.

Wallace State Community College Automotive Service Technology students interested in earning an associate’s degree in Automotive Technology and working at Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc., beginning with the Fall 2019 semester, should apply today for the Mercedes-Benz Tech Co-Op program at learnmercedes.com.

Wallace State and Mercedes Benz U.S. International announced the co-op partnership last fall and it launches in August. Wallace State’s Automotive Service Technology students accepted into the Mercedes-Benz Co-Op program will complete semester coursework on campus during the fall and spring semesters and work full-time at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Vance throughout the summer semesters.

Wallace State students who take advantage of the program will earn $16 an hour during the first summer at the Mercedes-Benz plant in addition to having a $400 housing allowance in the Tuscaloosa area. They’ll earn $17 per hour and the housing allowance during the second summer of work. Tuition assistance is provided to students based upon their current GPA’s, and students are eligible for full-time employment at Mercedes-Benz upon completion of the program.
