Members Cullman High School baseball team, fresh off this weekend’s state championship victory, were in attendance for the meeting and were recognized for that win in front of the gathered crowd.

Baseball coach Brent Patterson thanked everyone who supported the team during its championship run, especially all of the family members and fans who traveled to all of the team’s games after the team had to play almost all of its games on the road due to work that is ongoing at the Cullman High School baseball field.

“Those were like home games, because of the size of the crowd and how loud they were,” he said. “That’s something that we’ll never forget.”

Board member Suzanne Harbin also thanked the senior members of the team, who gave up their home games for their last year to let the system make the necessary repairs to their stadium.

“Thanks to you guys,” she said. “You set forth a great path for the future, both in your play and in making that sacrifice.”

Members of the Cullman High School theatre program were also recognized for receiving 2019 Trumbauer All State honors.

“These are great students and it’s a privilege to work with them,” said theatre director Wayne Cook.

CHS fishing team members Jed Wilson, Cameron Lebron, Houston Smith and Jack West were recognized for being 2019 Bassmaster High School Championship Qualifiers, and FCCLA members Emily Hancock, Olivia Woods and Kate Rains also received recognition for gold medal wins.
