Former Mortimer Jordan and Samford standout Devlin Hodges has signed an undrafted free agent deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Kimberly native made an announcement via social media on Sunday night.
Hodges, a 6-foot-1 quarterback, graduated from Mortimer Jordan in 2014. He went on to set Samford’s career passing mark midway through his junior season in Homewood, and later finished his college career (45 games) with 14,584 yards—an all-time FCS record—on 1,310 completions.
Hodges was a three-time SoCon Offensive Player of the Year (2016, 2017, 2018), making him the most decorated player in Samford football history. He was also awarded the 2018 Walter Payton Award as the top offensive player in FCS football.
The Steelers selected nine players during last month’s NFL Draft, none of which are listed as quarterbacks.
