Easter sunrise service at Grotto

- The Liturgy of the Lord’s passion is celebrated Friday afternoon in St. Bernard Abbey.
Cullman residents can celebrate Easter this year with a sunrise service at the Ave Maria Grotto.
Sponsored by the Cullman Ministerial Association, the service begins at 6:30 a.m. Sunday and is open for anyone to attend. The worship service has been a tradition for many years in the area.
The Grotto is located on the grounds of St. Bernard Abbey, just of U.S. 278 East.
Other Easter weekend events in the Cullman County include Easter egg hunts Saturday, including hunts in Cullman like Cullman County Parks and Recreation’s event at Sportsman Lake Park beginning at 9 a.m. and Seventh Street Baptist Church’s Easter egg hunt at Heritage Park beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Outside of Cullman, Church 212 will be hosting an egg hunt one at Good Hope High School starting at 10 a.m., the Holly Pond EggFest, hosted by Grace Community Church, is also set for 10 a.m. at Holly Pond Park and Renovation Church will be hosting an egg hunt at West Point High School beginning at 11 a.m. Hopewell Baptist Church will also be hosting an egg hunt at its location at 600 Hopewell Dr. NE in Hanceville beginning at 2 p.m.
