A man who was indicted on a a charge of strangulation in Cullman County has been arrested in Arkansas while providing Lyft and Uber passenger services.
Christopher Lee Jensen, 40, was being held Tuesday in the Benton County Jail with no bond set, according to a news release provided to the Northwest Arkansas Democrat Gazette from the Highfill Police Department.
Jensen was investigated in 2018 after a complaint was filed against him that resulted in an investigation by the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office.
“He was not charged, but we investigated and sent the information to the district attorney and a grand jury indicted him,” Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry said.
The indictment was for felony strangulation/suffocation.
Gentry said Jensen may not have known that he was indicted, but apparently left the area during the investigation into the domestic incident. Deputies arrived at the scene of the complaint and Jensen was not there, and that’s when the investigation started.
“It appears he fled the area and has been gone a while because of when we started the investigation,” Gentry said. “We’ll extradite him back. We may have to get a governor’s warrant if he doesn’t waive extradition.”
The Democrat Gazette reported Jensen was arrested Friday night during a traffic violation and had a passenger when police stopped him.
