Bloomin’ Festival in full swing

- Kids get the VIP treatment when festival season rolls around, and Charlie Baehne of Huntsville has it made in shades, headgear, a sweet sippy cup and a solid set of wheels piloted by parents Emory and Ronni Baehne. The Bloomin' Festival at St. Bernard rolls along until 5 p.m. Saturday, and opens again from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday.
The weather is perfect, the crowds are buzzing, and, as always, the parking is free today and Sunday at the 35th annual Bloomin’ Festival at St. Bernard.
From now until 5 p.m., and again starting at 9 a.m. Sunday, swing by St. Bernard Abbey for funnel cakes, music, arts and crafts, kids’ activities, and even the chance to win a car.
Traffic to and from the venue, located along Highway 278 in east Cullman, is slow but steady as the afternoon crowds begin to build, but don’t let that stop you: admission is just a $5 donation, and proceeds benefit the St. Bernard Prep School.
Plus…did we mention funnel cakes?
