Girl Scouts of North Central Alabama hosted “Fairies in the Park” at Gardendale’s Moncrief Park Saturday.  Fairies in the park is the theme of their spring recruitment event.

Girls Scout troops from all over North Jefferson County were in attendance to answer questions from perspective parents and for Girl Scouts to get together and have some fun.

The girls just ended their biggest fundraiser of the year, the Girl Scout Cookie sale–some may have heard of it.  The profit from the sale of the cookies will allow these girls to plan their outings calendar for the next year, including camping trips and other fun activities. A junior Girl Scout named Kaylee was helping new Girl Scouts make crafts. She said, “Teaching them doesn’t just help them, it helps me be a better leader.”

Very wise words from a future leader.

There is a special membership campaign going on right now and for $35 you can register your daughter and that will pay membership for the rest of this year and all of the next Girl Scout year.  For more information you can contact Kim Searcy at ksearcy@girlscoutsnca.org.
