Former Gardendale RB traded to Eagles

Former Gardendale High School running back Jordan Howard is on the move this offseason.

After three seasons with the Chicago Bears, Howard, 24, has been traded to the Philadelphia Eagles for a sixth-round draft pick in 2020 that can become a fifth-round pick, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

The Class of 2013 Rocket alum ranks third in the NFL in rushing since entering the league in 2016. Howard ran for 1,313 yards as a rookie in 2016 and came back for 1,122 yards in 2017 before slipping to 935 yards last season in Chicago.

He was a fifth-round pick by the Bears in 2016—the same year he earned a Pro Bowl invitation thanks to 1,313 yards on 252 attempts.

Howard signed with UAB in February of 2013, but played his final college season at Indiana.
