- Boy Scout Troop 100 volunteered to help animals at Missing Link Rescue.
Troop 100 doesn’t miss a chance to “Do a Good Turn Daily.” This time, however, those they were helping had four legs.
Jefferson County Schools were out on Monday, so members of the troop picked Missing Link Rescue in Mount Olive as the place to spend several hours working on cleaning up areas around the rescue. Missing Link is a non profit that focuses on the rescue and placement of all types of animals. On Monday, a feisty goat named Harry Dean was around.
There were also horses, cows, pigs, roosters, ducks and of course, cats and dogs. Most animals are looking for homes. Founder and director Debbie Cousins has been working with animal rescue for more than 20 years. With such a variety of animals to care for, there is always a need for support. They have an immediate need for dog and cat food.
Other needed items include cat litter, trash bags, towels, pet beds, toys and treats. The work at Missing Link is never done and is a 24-hour -a-day operation, caring for and rescuing animals. If you are interested in volunteering at Missing Link, you can email them at missinglinkrescue@gmail.com.
Another way to aid their efforts is through financial support. Donations can be mailed to PO Box 815 Gardendale 35071.
