Kimberly police announce passing of former Chief Bill Isbell

According to a Facebook post from the Kimberly Police Department, retired chief Bill Isbell has passed away. News of his passing was shared on Monday afternoon.

He was introduced as Kimberly’s police chief on Jan. 1, 2014, following the retirement of former Chief James Belding.

Isbell served with the Kimberly Police Department for 17 years, and worked in law enforcement a total of 28 years. His stint in Kimberly was his second stop as a police chief; he was also chief of the Good Hope Police Department in Cullman County in 1993.

He has also worked for the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and the Morris Police Department.

Isabel retired in 2017 after 17 years of service behind the badge, but continued working on a part-time basis. He was 74 years old.
