Hanceville Irish Heritage Celebration 2019

The second annual installment of Hanceville’s Irish Heritage Celebration saw more to do, bigger crowds, and weather that only got better throughout the day Saturday, as hundreds showed up downtown for Irish music, food, kids’ stuff, and dancing.

Unlike last year’s inaugural Irish festival, which came together only two weeks before the event, this year’s version benefited from more planning, more vendors, and wider word of mouth. One member of the local Friends of the Festival group that staged the event said Saturday’s turnout was a marked improvement over last year’s fest, indicating it should be back even bigger and better next year.
