Family and friends paid their final tribute Sunday to Holly Pond native Josh Pinkard, one of five victims in a workplace shooting in Aurora, Illinois.

Pinkard had only been on the job 11 months at the Henry Pratt Co., when an employee in the process of being fired opened fire, killing five people and wounding others including several police officers on Feb. 15.

Before he died, Pinkard, the 37-year-old plant manager, texted his wife, Terra, his last words: ‘I love you. I’ve been shot.’”

In a Facebook post Saturday, Terra thanked those who have prayed for her and her family.

“Please keep flooding heaven with prayers today as my children see their daddy. They are hurting so bad and miss him terribly,” she said in the post.

She also asked for everyone to “remember the other victims’ families.”

“We are all scared, heartbroken, and devastated so please remember to lift us all up.”

The family requested media not attend services Sunday.
