Cullman native and former Alabama Senate majority leader Zeb Little has been arrested on a trio of theft charges, according to the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office.
Cullman Police arrested Little, a Democrat who served the Cullman area for 12 years as Alabama’s District 4 senator, on Thursday.
Little was charged with three counts of 1st degree theft of property. Details of the case were light late Thursday, but the arrest appears to have come following a lengthy investigation involving a cooperative effort between law enforcement agencies.
Little was booked into the Cullman County Detention Center, where he was later released on a bond of $15,000.
Little was elected to the state Senate in 1998, and served until 2010, when he was defeated by Republican challenger Paul Bussman. Little served as the Senate majority leader from 2002 until 2010.
