ARCHERY: Vinemont Elementary, Vinemont Middle claim titles at Eagle Eye Tournament; West Point High finishes 2nd

Vinemont Elementary and Vinemont Middle corralled their respective titles at the inaugural Eagle Eye Tournament in Vinemont, which wrapped up Friday.

Vinemont Elementary secured 3,100 points in the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) competition to triumph over runner-up East Elementary (3,025) by 75 points.

Hanceville (2,591) and Welti (2,359) finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

Cheston Wilhite (278), Tucker Robinson (267), Emily Coats (262), Evie Floyd (260), Riley Bramley (258), Clairebeth Johnson (258), Addison Holcomb (257), Jayden Friedrich (256), Vayda Yarbrough (254), Andrew Landreth (252), Emma Hathaway (251) and Karson Adamson (247) were the top 12 archers for the Eagles.

Coats was the top elementary female, while Wilhite had the second-best elementary male score.

Vinemont, meanwhile, clipped Cullman 3,293 to 3,281 in the middle school division.

Holly Pond (2,989), Fairview (2,963) and Hanceville (2,789) finished fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively.

Alexis Sartin (289) paced the Eagles with the top overall performance across all female divisions.

Savannah Mann (285), Logan Ford (280), Symon Joiner (278), Sydney Ramey (277), Trinity Sartin (271), Tai Shurtleff (271), Vance Powell (270), Bella Gringrich (269), Isaiah Jones (268), Erin Anderson (268) and Rylan McRae (267) also pitched in counting scores for Vinemont.

Cullman’s Carson Starnes (287) garnered the top score in the male middle school division.

Cullman’s Briana Willoughby (286) placed second both overall and in the female middle school division.

West Point (3,219) fell just one point shy of Chilton County (3,220) in the high school competition.

Vinemont (3,170), Cullman (3,168) and Holly Pond (2,983) were third, fourth and sixth, respectively.

West Point’s Ronnie Gentry was the top high school female with a score of 282.

She tied Cullman’s Abby Gragg but won the tiebreaker with 17 tens to 15.

Cameron Haynes had the top male score (282) for the Warriors and placed fifth in the high school division.
