On Thursday, Jan. 31, Gardendale Police arrested John Tyler Franks, of Mt. Olive in the parking lot of Gardendale High School. 

Franks was arrested on charges of production of obscene material featuring someone under the age of 17 and possession of obscene material featuring someone under the age of 17. At the time of his arrest on those felony warrants, Gardendale Police said he also had cocaine and drug paraphernalia on him, so charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance were also issued. 

According to his Facebook profile, Franks is a 2018 graduate of Gardendale High School. 

Currently, Franks is in the Jefferson County Jail on $100,300 bond.
