Pavilion collapses at Hanceville’s Veterans Park

A pavilion at Veterans Park in Hanceville collapsed today, but no injuries were reported.
The pavilion, which includes picnic tables and lighting, collapsed around 12:40 p.m., Mayor Kenneth Nail said.
“Thank goodness no one was sitting there,” Nail said. “We also had a small tree down. We’re just not sure what happened, if it was a micro-burst or what.”
The pavilion was built about a year ago.
