The National Weather Service is warning of potential for thunderstorms later today, peaking during the afternoon and early evening hours.

Damaging winds in the 60 to 70 mph range are possible. Some locations will receive up to one inch of rainfall quickly, which could lead to minor flooding.

Storms should end across northeast Alabama by early evening.
