FULTONDALE—The Fultondale City Council donated $15,325 to Fultondale High School. That is $25 for each student in the school. The city makes the annual donation for the school to use to fill in gaps in educational funding. In past years, the money has been used for facility upgrades, additional staffing and other needs at the school.

The council will be making donations in the future to be used for athletics and the band. This will be the first year the band is included in the donation.

The council also voted to authorize the mayor to enter into an agreement with Alabama Power Company to install a street light at 3587 Mary Lane as requested by the street department.

The council met on Monday since its regular meeting would have fallen on Christmas Eve. The city will be closed on Monday and Tuesday for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. All emergency services will continue to operate.
