On December 6, 2018 at approximately 10 p.m. Gardendale Police received a call of an armed robbery in progress at the Dollar Tree.

Officers responded to the scene and detained one black male, 27 years old, in a vehicle and one black male, 24 years old, in the woods behind the store, according to Lt. Scott Banks.

Officers recovered a gun and an unreleased amount of money. No one was injured in the robbery or during the apprehension of the suspects, according to Banks. The identity of the men detained by police has not been released at this time, pending the filing of formal charges.
