Thanksgiving brings dining, shopping opportunities

- Shoppers at Belk and other retailers kept the Cullman Shopping Center bustling through the day on Black Friday 2017, taking advantage of post-Thanksgiving sales to get an early start on the Christmas gift-getting season.
Black Friday is still a major shopping event, but plenty of stores and restaurants will be open Thanksgiving Day in Cullman.
From All Steak Restaurant to Cracker Barrel and Golden Corral, anyone wanting to avoid cooking will have options for specially priced Thanksgiving feasts.
And once the meal is completed, many stores will be open Thursday to start the holiday shopping season with a wide range of specials and anticipated items for Christmas. Those stores that remain closed for Thanksgiving will mostly open early Friday.

Belk: 4 p.m.-1 a.m.
Big Lots: 7 a.m.-12 a.m.
Books-A-Million: Noon-Midnight
Goody’s: 1 p.m.-1 a.m.
Dick’s Sporting Goods: 6 p.m.-2 a.m.
Game Stop: 3-10 p.m.
Sav-A-Lot: 8 a.m.-9 p.m.
Shoe Department Encore: 10 a.m.-9 p.m.
Shoe Show: 10 a.m.-9 p.m.
Walmart: Open
Restaurants
All Steak: 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Cracker Barrel: 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
Denny’s: Open
Golden Corral: 10 a.m.-9:30 p.m.
Waffle House: Open

Look for most stores and restaurants that close on Thursday to be open for all a full day and night on Black Friday.
