PREP BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Pickett’s big game lifts Hanceville’s girls to OT win over Red Bay

Kelly Pickett torched the nets for a career-high 47 points to guide Hanceville to a 61-60 overtime win against Red Bay on Tuesday.
The Lady Bulldogs also received eight points from Malia Howell, four from Lauren Roberson and two from Mira Gieser.
Pickett was 18 of 22 from the free-throw line, including a perfect 6-for-6 mark in the extra period.
“Today’s game was the best that I’ve seen Kelly play,” coach Christina Watson said. “Her shooting percentage was amazing. She put the team on her back and carried us when we were having a hard time scoring.”
Hanceville (3-2) will play Hatton Wednesday at 7:40 p.m. to wrap up play at Hartselle’s Encore Thanksgiving Classic.
% Cold Springs 73, Mortimer Jordan 45: Elizabeth Hill racked up 32 points as the Lady Eagles rolled to a victory at Hartselle’s Encore Thanksgiving Classic on Tuesday.
Toni West (13 points), Camryn Crider (nine) and Neely Ellison (six) were next in line offensively.
Cold Springs (3-3) will play Susan Moore Wednesday at 3:40 p.m.

Bash at the Beach Thanksgiving Tournament
% West Point 68, Fairhope 32: Miriam Oldacre paced the Lady Warriors with 16 points in Tuesday’s win at Gulf Shores.
Lexi Shadix and Brooke Brownfield tossed in 12 points apiece for West Point as well.
The Lady Warriors will wrap up play on Wednesday at 11 a.m. against Hale County.

% Cold Springs 50, Meek 43: Adam Hill (20 points), Landyn Freeman (12) and Micah Calvert (eight) were the top offensive contributors for the Eagles in Tuesday night’s win.
Cold Springs will play Corner on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
% Hanceville 83, Tarrant 57: Romain Pochon provided 18 points, while RJ Evans (16) and Fred Ellis (15) also came through for the Bulldogs in Tuesday night’s win.
Hanceville will play Sumiton Christian on Wednesday at 7:45 p.m.
62nd Annual Holly Pond Thanksgiving Tournament
% Good Hope 93, Holly Pond 71: The Raiders put on an offensive clinic in Tuesday night’s win over the Broncos.
Michael Lowe and Noah Fendley paced Good Hope with 23 and 21 points, respectively, while Cole Maddox (15), Eli Phares (12) and Dawson Turner (12) also contributed terrific outings.
The Broncos received a game-high 29 points from Kyler Chaney in the loss.
The Raiders play Cullman on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
