Local residents who don’t have plans this Thanksgiving, or who want to celebrate the holiday with other members of the community, have a chance to get the full holiday experience with several local organizations and churches that are hosting free community meals this week to help people celebrate.
Some of the free community meals include:
The City of Good Hope’s 10th annual Community Thanksgiving Meal will be served Wednesday beginning at 11 a.m. in the Good Hope High School lunchroom, located at 210 Good Hope School Road. The lunch will last until food runs out. Meals can be eaten there or carried out, and a drive through will also be open. Delivery will also be available for those who are unable to pick up their food.
The 25th annual Grover Reeves Community Thanksgiving Meal will be held at St. John’s Evangelical Protestant Church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday. The church is located at 512 2nd Ave. SE, Cullman. Meals can be delivered, picked up or eaten at St. John’s.
Cullman’s Sardis Baptist Church will be hosting its annual Community Thanksgiving Meal at the Trimble Community Center on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Trimble Community Center is located at 7744 County Road 813. Anyone in need of a Thanksgiving meal is welcome to celebrate with the church.
